The Butterfly Story:

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day, a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Suddenly, the butterfly stopped making progress and looked like it was stuck. The man decided to help the butterfly and with a pair of scissors he cut open the cocoon. The butterfly emerged easily, but it had a swollen body and shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly, expecting that at any moment the wings would enlarge and expand to support the body. But neither happened. In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. The man had tried to help, but in reality he had doomed the butterfly to a life of struggling.
Moral of the story: Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If nature allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. And we could never fly.

The Elephant Rope:

A man was passing by some elephants, when he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not. He asked a trainer nearby why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. The trainer explained that when the elephants were young, they were tied with the same size rope and that, at that age, it was enough to hold them. As they grew up, they were conditioned to believe they could not break away. They believed the rope could still hold them, so they never tried to break free.
Moral of the story: We all have the ability to break free from the limitations that hold us back, but often we are conditioned by our past experiences and beliefs to stay within our comfort zones. It's only by testing the limits of what we think is possible that we can truly reach our full potential.

The Two Wolves:

An old Cherokee was teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Moral of the story: We all have two wolves fighting inside of us – one good and one evil. It's up to us to choose which one we feed, and ultimately which one will win. Focus on positivity and goodness, and you will see positive change in your life.
